The Ng Lao Chik–SINDA Secondary Study (NLC-SSS) Award is meant specially for deserving Indian students studying in mainstream secondary schools in Singapore.

The award was started by Mr Ng Siak Heng in memory of his late father in 2009. This year, 12 students were conferred the award on 25 August 2011 at SINDA. The award supports students financially in their pursuit of excellence in academics and in the areas of sports and the arts.

Second time recipient, Ashwin s/o Singaram, from Anglo Chinese School Independent, agreed that the study award will prove helpful in his studies.

“The money will go a long way in supporting my daily expenses and study needs. It will also improve performance in the academics and my co-curricular activities as well,” said Ashwin.
