Objective

This scholarship award aims to assist undergraduate students with student allowance or course fees to pursue Social Work at National University of Singapore (NUS) and Singapore Institute of Management University (UniSIM).

Eligibility Criteria

In order to be eligible for the Scholarship Award, applicants must:

  • Be a  Singapore Citizen,
  • Be either Indian or have one parent belonging to an Indian sub-ethnic group
  • Be enrolled in one of the following courses:
National University of Singapore (NUS) - Bachelor of Social Sciences in Social Work
- Graduate Diploma in Social Work
- Master of Social Sciences in Social Work
Singapore Institute of Management University (UniSIM) - Bachelor of Social Work
- Graduate Diploma and Master in Social Work
  • Be in the 2nd, 3rd or Honours year of study, with good academic results
  • Have a strong passion to continue a career in the community and social service sector
  • Have no other scholarships awarded

Scholarship Tiers

Tiers Funding Areas Excluded
Tier 1 Funding of 100% PCI $750 or below
Tier 2 Funding of 50% PCI of $750 – $1500
Tier 3 Funding of 30% PCI of $1500 and above
* Applications that do not meet the above criteria, will be reviewed on a case by case basis

Value of Award

This award will support to up to 5 students with the study award $3,000 – $10,000, varying on the course taken and the institution the candidate is studying in.

Student allowance can be utilised for:

  • Course fees
  • Food and Transport expenditure
  • Book allowance
  • Computer based allowance

Bond

Bond periods will vary on period of study.

Before Graduation, during course of study After Graduation
To complete 20 days of internships with SINDA*. (10 days during Semester 1 holidays and 10 days during Semester 2 holidays) 1 year of study support by award to 1 year bond with SINDA *
*SINDA reserves all rights to transfer student to another organization deemed fit, in the event should SINDA have no vacancy for that period in time.

Cash payments are to be made at SINDA, 1 Beatty Road, Singapore 209943. Tax exemption receipts will be issued when the donation is received.
