APU – SINDA Scholarship



The Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU) in partnership with SINDA, offers the APU Scholarships for Degree courses to suitable candidates to study at APU in Beppu, Japan.

APU will offer a Tuition Reduction Scholarship to students admitted on recommendation of SINDA. This can range from a minimum amount of 30% reduction to a maximum 100%, based on the student’s scores and application.

Bachelor of Business Administration (College of International Management)


Intake period for Japan

For September 2017 – Application closing date is 15th February 2017

For April 2018 – Application closing date is 1st October 2017

Please note:

  • Successful students are advised to take up Basic Japanese (spoken) before leaving for Japan and this is not covered by this scholarship
  • Registration fee of 5000 YEN is applicable for all applications
  • Scholarship is only tenable for the specific period of study. Should the student decide to drop out or defer, the Scholarship will be voided and the student has to re-pay the quantum of the scholarship.
  • The scholarship does not cover airfare to and from Japan, application fee, admissions fee, lodging, insurance and daily expenses


  • There is no bond attached to the award.
  • Students are required to volunteer their time after their studies, at SINDA for a period of 24 days, over 2 years.
  • Students will be required to sign a Student Deed with SINDA.

Students must:

  • Be a Singapore Citizen (no dual citizenship in Japan); and
  • Be either Indian or have one parent belonging to an Indian sub-ethnic group; and
  • Not currently be receiving any other similar scholarships; and
  • Have 3 or more “C” grades at GCE ‘A’ Level or be Polytechnic Diploma holders.
  • Students who have community work background will be given greater consideration.
