The world of parenthood is exciting and sometimes over whelming especially for first time mums and dads. The activities and programmes would be designed to guide and prepare them for parenthood. Parents’ early intervention with their children’s development supports their cognitive and social skills needed for success in school. The programme would also empower young parents with the knowledge and awareness on their children’s development at different stages of their children life and to nurture a healthy parent-child relationship. The brain develops most rapidly in the first fewy ears of a child’s life. The ongoing interchange between genes and different environments – within which children are born, grow, learn and live – shapes the developing brain. During these critical years, the foundation is laid for a child’s physical and mental health, affecting everything from longevity to the lifelong capacity to learn, from the ability to adapt to change to the capacity for resilience against adverse circumstances.
