Parenting Talk: Building Child’s Self-Esteem

ABOUT

Programme

Self-esteem is important because it is a major influence on the choices and decisions that people make. That is, self-esteem acts as a motivational factor by increasing or decreasing the chances that people will take care of themselves and achieve their full potential. If a child believes that he or she can do well, there is a greater chance or she will do just that. A higher level of self-esteem also helps a child do better in various aspects of his or her life, including school, sports and socialisation.
