Introduction to Rhythms for Preschoolers

ABOUT

Programme

Science has shown that when preschoolers learn to play music, their brains begin to hear and process sounds that they couldn’t otherwise hear. This helps them develop “neuro-physiological distinction” between certain sounds that can aid in literacy, which can translate into improved academic results for kids.

Preschoolers will foster an appreciation of music that lasts a lifetime, through singing, dancing, playing percussion instruments and musical games that stimulate the child’s creativity and imagination, all whilst having fun. They will also create their home-made instruments to take-home.

  1. Preschoolers will listen to, analyze, and describe music
  2. Preschoolers will gain experience performing on instruments, alone and with others, a varied repertoire of music
  3. Preschoolers will gain experience composing and arranging music within specified guidelines
  4. Preschoolers will gain experience in speaking and listening as tools for learning.
