Understanding Early Childhood 7: Parenting your Cyber Savvy Child
We live in a time where IT, media and the cyber-world are part of daily life. To top it off, the speed of change that takes place online can occur in a blink of an eye, and very often, parents are left bewildered by what goes on with their child and their online activities. Nowadays, the roles have been reversed – children know more than their parents about the Internet and parents are now seeking advice on Internet issues from their children!
How can we fulfill our roles in guiding our children in the use of the computer and the Internet, so that they are aware of the various issues and can independently stay safe and responsible? How do we bring about balance in virtual and real-life issues for our children?
