On 1 May 2012, SINDA’s Parents Division conducted its first Father-Child Bonding Experiential Camp, in collaboration with Centre for Fathering. Ten fathers and their children attended the event which aimed at helping them relate to one another and communicate better. The fun-filled 8-hour camp, targeted at fathers, and children aged between 7 to 15 years old, helped fathers to relate better with their children through experiential learning methods.
Through the camp, the fathers gained a better appreciation of the crucial role they play in their children’s life, and learnt the importance of being more involved as a parent. Participants felt the camp presented a good opportunity to learn more about their children, and to take part in fun games and activities together. Mr Ponnusamy, who attended the camp with his 6 year old daughter, felt the activities helped them to learn more about each other.
