SCHOLARSHIP


Singapore Institute of Materials Management (SIMM) is a non-profit organization offering scholarships as a way of support for the materials management industry. The SIMM – SINDA scholarships are offered to candidates who are interested in doing a Part-Time course at SIMM.

Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain
Management (DLSCM)
 (1 year program)
This course aims to equip executives and junior managers at corporate level, with the knowledge and techniques of logistics and trade operations, purchasing and production planning, and warehousing for effective management of their organizations.

 

The applicant must have at least 5 GCE ‘O’ Levels or a Certificate from any recognized institution.

Those without the pre-requisites but have substantial working experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Intake & Duration: Jun 2019 to Jun 2020
Closing Date: All forms should reach us by 10th May 2019
Certificate in Logistics and
Distribution Management (LDM)
 (2 months program)
The course will provide participants the tools and techniques essential in the management of the logistics function. Appropriate for warehouse executives, storekeepers, production planners, freight forwarders, shipping executives, buyers, supervisory executives in warehouse and distribution functions. Applicants should possess 3 GCE ‘O’ levels (any subject with grade 1-8) or equivalent qualification.

Applicants who do not meet with the entry requirements maybe considered on a case by case basis.

Mature candidates with working experience (If applicants do not meet minimum entry requirement, they can still be considered if they have at least 2 years of working experience)

ELIGIBILITY


Eligibility

  • Applicant or any one parent of applicant is a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident belonging to an Indian sub-ethnic group.
  • The combined monthly household income will be taken into consideration
  • Applicants must meet entry requirements to the selected course of study as set by SIMM
  • Selection of candidates will be based on the following criteria:
    1. Academic Ability
    2. Competence
    3. Attitude
    4. Meeting Course Requirements

Note:

  • All scholarships entail Tuition Fee only (excluding bridging module fee, non-tuition fee, supplementary exam fee, re-module fee) for the entire duration of the course.
  • Successful candidates are required to pay for following fee:
    1. Application: $192.60
    2. Membership entrance & subscription: $111.28
    3. Textbook: $$230.05
  • Scholarship is only tenable for the specific period of study. Should the student decide to drop out, or defer, the Scholarship will be voided and the student has to re-pay the quantum of Scholarship.
  • Candidates are required to volunteer their time with SINDA or Singapore Indian Education Trust (SIET) during the duration of their course and a student deed would need to be signed with SINDA.

PROCESS


Processing Time

  • You are required to apply for the scholarship 1 month before the course commencement.
  • Processing time takes about 3– 4 weeks after the closing date.
  • Only short listed candidates will be notified of the interview dates with SINDA.
  • Only successful candidates will be informed of the outcome by SINDA.
  • All scholarships are subject to approval.
  • You may only start your course, after receiving the scholarship offer and signing the student deed

  1. Visit SIMM Institute, 9 Ah Hood Road, #04-06 EASB BuildingSingapore 329975 and speak with a course consultant, do mention that you will be applying for the SIMM-SINDA Scholarship.
  2. Ask consultant if there are any bridging modules you need to take up in order to start your Diploma or Degree course. (Please note that fees for bridging modules are not included in the Scholarship).
  3. Get a letter of offer from SIMM and then downloadSINDA scholarship application form.
  4. Send completed form together with necessary documents indicated in the application form to the address below.
