1. How can we as a community help to address the poor Maths performance by Indians in the PSLE exams? (3 out of 4 of Indian students pass Maths at PSLE)- Get kids to realise how can maths be used when they start working, and how prevalent it is gonna be in their adult life.- A different approach in teaching the subject, add more fun, vibe and stories to the teaching process- Get students to understand that we Indians are the ones who do so great in Maths, and we got a flair for it naturally.2. How can we encourage Indian families to send their children to pre-school (nursery and below)?- Introduce to parents what is being thought in pre-schools that cant or most usually not being done at homes.- Nursery could be a place where even parents get to interact with other parents.3. How can we reach out to the students and their families not in SINDA’s educational programmes (STEP and Project Teach) now?- Hearsay? Get information about such families from other families who are already engaged with SINDA’s activities- Present families with SINDA could do much more by being a 1 point contact with the rest of the community- Have close relations with temple committees- they could have a database on students who attend their sunday classes.

Answer for question 1.
 
1+1 is two how is it possible. Its a formula we have to remember counting number and using formulas. 
When students good in tables. Is not a problem. basic maths addition and division, subtration is must. 
More voluntery services to nearby home or center to train students. So that poor students can come and learn with less fees for the building or place rent. 
Instead of specific places some common place or house sinda should have. so the rent for class rooms will be reduced. We can indirectly get more Poor students.

Our existing Sinda students is the agent and their performance will show to the parents to encourage their children to come for sinda  step class, ask the lazy parents to find some useful job for them to work and help children to come up.
 
Sinda rep can meet those parents and find the reason why they are not willing to send their children for sinda step classes. 
 
Possible reasons from parents side.
 
1. Distance and transport money (can be eliminated by sinda and some near by sinda rep at study corner, resident corner can be used.)
2. childrens can be guided and guarded to their home by the elder sinda students id they are going same route which will give confidence for the parents to send along with the existing students. 
3. Need to counsell parents towards children’s sinda education will help them to do regular stream so quickly can go for A level and university.  So that they can start work for their earnings. 
Can get support from children too if not children needs to take long way ITE, DIp, Parttime University. by that time he is 50 years. So as a parents we are the producers and need them to be marketed with good margin. 
 
I donot like parents to blame their children, instead of that they should provided for them, then it will be alright.

Answer to question 5
 
Explain to citizen govt collecting funds and giving fund for sinda and their children, so similar way can ask all valunterers to come to serve or invite them to provide share for the community. Sinda can meet PR wife’s house wife and those with long term pass or dependent pass not working. They can help they are the source for sinda children’s education. 
 
sinda can train them to take class for nearby students.

It’s puzzling to me why the top students in Singapore are students who are from India living in Singapore.  Why is it that they can achieve top marks in all subjects and get good marks in Maths and English (eventhough they speak their mother tongue at home).  However, our children can’t pass their maths and only get passing marks in the other subjects ??
