SINDA’s Children Division kept our Indian kids productively and happily occupied with various activities over the June Holidays.
From a nature trail to Sentosa for Primary 3-6 students, to a Maths Carnival for pre-school children from all age groups immensely enjoyed the wide range of holiday programmes conducted for them. Here’s a sneak peek at the colourful June Holidays for these kids:

Jumanji Holiday Camp (20-22 June)
70 students from Primary 4 and 5 had a wild adventure at Jumanji, a 3 Day/2 Night Holiday Camp organised by SINDA. The camp imbibed in students a range of academic and social skills such as Motivation, Leadership and Mathematics. Students were engaged in meaningful team building activities and were given leadership roles to boost their confidence and bring out their full potential. Various Math concepts were also reinforced through highly stimulating and enriching activities such as “Cooking with Maths” and “Geometry Treasure Hunt”. Students felt that these hands-on activities enhanced their problem-solving skills, and encouraged them to apply Math concepts in day-to-day living. Jumanji certainly got the students thinking critically and creatively, while having fun!
Youth @ Play
265 youths were involved in exciting holiday activities organised by the Youth Division. These youths benefitted from a plethora of experiences from challenging outdoor activities to designing F1 cars. Here’s what our youths were up to in June:

Camp Arise

The camp equipped students with social skills and built resilience and confidence through challenging activities such as Dragonboat, bridge building and rockwall climbing. The participants were enthralled by the experience, which brought out their spirit of adventure while developing their life skills. Students shared what they had learnt to work as a team and become more positive and resilient.
F1 Workshop
48 Secondary level students participated in a 3-day F1 workshop held at St Andrew’s Secondary School from 20 to 22 June. Participants gained better insight into the intricacies involved in designing the F1 model car. Aspects of Mathematic, physics and engineering were taught to the students in a fun and exciting way.
The Drama Lab
20 youths who participated in Drama Lab were delighted to learn the elements of forum theatre at this 1-day workshop on 5 June. The workshop was conducted by the renowned Ravindran Drama Group. The youths had fun and acquired leadership skills through the process of creating and participating in a forum theatre performance.
Camp Kathiroli
SINDA’s Youth division supported the National University of Singapore Indian Cultural Society in coordinating Camp Kathiroli from 12 to 15 June. The 3 day camp aimed to expose students to the various forms of post-secondary education paths available. It also encouraged young students to further develop their decision-making skills and to be self-motivated in striving for success.
