Ng Lao Chik – SINDA Secondary Study Awards 2013
The Ng Lao Chik – SINDA Secondary Study (NLC-SSS) Award is a study award specially for deserving Indian students studying in mainstream secondary schools in Singapore,
The study award will support students financially to pursue excellence in education and in the areas of sports or the arts.
Started in 2009 by Mr Ng Siak Heng in memory of his late father, 38 students have benefitted from this award for the past four years. Mr Ng has kindly offered to support the NLC-SSS Awards again this year.
Eligibility
- Singapore citizen or permanent resident of Singapore;
- Indian or have at least one parent belonging to an Indian sub-ethnic group;
- Currently enrolled in a mainstream school in Singapore;
- Be in Secondary 2 or 3 in the Express or Normal Academic stream;
- Have attained a good pass in all subjects attempted at the school’s 2012 mid-year and final examinations;
- Have obtained significant awards for achievement in the area of sports or the arts (such as the Singapore Schools’ Sports Council National Colours Awards); and
- Have a per capita household monthly income (gross) not exceeding S$450.
Award
- The value of each NLC SSS Award is S$500 for the year.
