SINDA collaborates actively with like-minded partners with the aim of maximising educational opportunities for all Indian students.

Such collaborative programmes are:

STU – Star Programme is a tuition programme that SINDA offers in collaboration with Singapore Teachers’ Union. It caters to Primary 4 – Primary 6 students. Classes are offered in selected centres island-wide. Subjects offered are English, Maths and Science. SINDA subsidises up to 50% of the tuition fees per Indian student each month. (Subjected to terms and conditions)

‘A’ Level Tuition Project is run by NUS Tamil Language Society (NUSTLS) with the support from SINDA and SIET. This programme runs yearly from March to October. It aims to provide affordable and quality tuition to Junior College and Pre-University students to prepare them for the GCE ‘A’ level exams. Tuition is offered for key ‘A’ Level subjects.

Under the Collaborative Tuition Programme, three Self–Help Groups – CDAC, Mendaki & SINDA come together to offer tuition to students of all ethnic groups. This programme is offered at 61 selected Tuition Centres.

Criteria for Non-Indians to enrol in SINDA STEP Centres:

  • Students with a household income of $2,700 or below or a per capita income of $700 or below
  • Students must be from Primary 1 to Secondary 5 studying in a regular day school
  • Students must be Singapore Citizens/ PRs

Indian students are also able to register for tuition programmes in CDAC and Mendaki Tuition Centres.

Criteria for Indian students to enrol in CDAC/ Mendaki Centres:

  • A monthly household income of $2,700 or below or a per capita income of $700 or below
  • Studying in a regular day school
  • Singapore Citizens/ PRs
  • For CDAC: Primary 1 to Secondary 5
  • For Mendaki: Primary 1 to Primary 6
