Project Read aims to give Indian children a better start in school by equipping them with basic English reading skills, as well as inculcating the reading habit in them at an early age.

Programme Details

  • We help preschoolers from low-income families, who have reading difficulties and parents who are unable to help read to their children .
  • Each child is matched with a volunteer.
  • We seek commitment and co-operation from parents.
  • We conduct weekly 1 hour sessions for up to 6 months.
  • Compulsory library membership and visits to the library.
  • Complete help, in terms of Neu PC and bursaries to children, is provided.

Target

Children between the ages of 4 to 8 years old.
