Launched in 1998, Project Read, is a volunteer-driven programme, designed to give Indian children a head start in school by equipping them with basic reading skills and instilling an early reading habit amongst them.

Currently, a total of 108 children benefit from Project Read.

Programme Details

• Each child is matched with a volunteer.
• Weekly 1 hour reading sessions are conducted for up to 6 months.
• Participants are encouraged to apply for Library membership and visit the library to cultivate the habit of reading.
• Preschoolers who have reading difficulties and parents who are unable to teach their children to read are encouraged to participate in Project Read

Target

Children between the ages of 3 and 9 years old.
