Project Teach
Project Teach is a school based supplementary educational programme that works in partnership with the school and the student’s parents and teachers. It aims to improve the academic performance of Indian students in schools through intensive small group tuition and is targeted at Singaporean/Permanent Resident students.
The programme focuses on Pri 1-Pri 6 students (including Foundation students) who have the potential to perform better in English, Mathematics and/or Science (Pri 3-Pri 6 only).
The students are identified by the school and tutoring usually takes place before or after curriculum time at the school’s premises. This is customized according to the school’s and student’s needs.
Since the start of Project Teach in 2001, more than 9,000 students have benefitted from the programme. To date, SINDA has partnered with more than 50 primary schools running Project Teach.
The programme was piloted at Stamford Primary school in 2001 for Primary 4 students and since then, the programme has yielded positive results. SINDA strongly believes that intensive tutoring will enable students to perform well at school and landmark examinations, thereby improving the performance level of Indian students in schools.
