In 2016, a Door Knocking Exercise was initiated by Senior Minister of State and SINDA President, MS Indranee Rajah. The Door Knocking Exercise aims to engage Indian residents at their doorsteps to find out how SINDA can better understand the needs of the Indian community, and bring help and support those in need. The Door Knocking Exercise is volunteer driven.
This programme is a collaborative effort, partnering the grassroots organisations and SINDA’s community partners.

Door Knocking Exercise
Monthly, Sunday afternoon*
During the door knocking exercise, volunteers will be finding out the various issues that low-income Indian families are facing in their day-to- day lives. This information will then be used by SINDA to provide and/or connect these families to the necessary support, according to their needs.
Volunteers will undergo a training session to be equipped with the necessary skill sets as a befriender.
