SINDA-SIET Tertiary Bursary 2021

Bursary


Singapore Indian Education Trust (SIET) in partnership with SINDA is assisting in administering all tertiary related matters

SIET grants bursaries to needy and deserving full-time students in Junior Colleges/Integrated Program Schools/Millennia Institute/Institute of Technical Education Colleges/Polytechnics & the following Universities: NUS, NTU, SMU, SUTD, SIT & SUSS.

Applications are invited for the 2021 SINDA-SIET Tertiary Bursary Scheme.

  • Please read through the criteria carefully and submit your bursary application form with the necessary supporting documents.
  • Only fully completed bursary application forms will be processed.  All the supporting documents stated in the form must be attached together with the bursary form for verification.
  • Kindly ensure that the declaration is made by the applicant and all the details on the bursary form are clearly and correctly stated. Please do a complete softcopy submission of the bursary application form and supporting documents in a single PDF file and email to sieto@singnet.com.sg first. Subsequently, the original bursary form and supporting documents can be mailed at:

STUDENT

Eligibility


  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident of Indian/other South Asian origins (Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, etc.)
  • Full-time student in a post-secondary educational institution.
    (Please refer to Annexe A for information on the list of eligible institutions)
  • Household Per Capita Income (PCI) Nett of $1,000 per month or below.
    (The PCI is computed as follows: Total Nett income of everyone in the household divided by the number of people in the household)
  • Applied for financial assistance such as Ministry of Education (MOE) or Higher Education Community Bursary, Tuition Grant/Loan etc. with his/her institution prior to applying for SINDA-SIET Tertiary Bursary Award.
  • Applicants are required to attend at least 1 SINDA programme in a year.

Closing Date
Junior College $100/month up to 12 months and quantum starts from the submission date 15th October 2021
ITE College $100/month up to 12 months and quantum starts from the submission date
Polytechnic $150/month up to 9 months and quantum starts from the submission date
University $200/month up to 9 months and quantum starts from the submission date

Note:
In addition to the monthly bursary amounts indicated in the above table, SINDA will credit a further $50 extra per month for all approved bursary applicants until end 2021 to cope with the challenging financial situation due to Covid19.

Additional Note:

  • This quantum is applicable only until December 2021.
  • Applicants will be required to attend an online interview conducted via Zoom .
  • The Bursary Award Panel will review your application and will inform you if your application is successful. The decision of the panel is final.
  • Do take note that it is compulsory for all the students to sign up for at least 1 SINDA programme as reflected in Annexe B.
  • Please take note that the closing date for the SINDA-SIET Tertiary Bursary scheme is 15th October 2021.
  • The bursary award will be discontinued when a student graduates or withdraws from his/her course at the College/Polytechnic or University during the year.
