SIMM – SINDA Scholarship



Singapore Institute of Materials Management (SIMM) is a non-profit organization offering scholarships as a way of support for the materials management industry. The SIMM – SINDA scholarships are offered to candidates who are interested in doing a Part-Time course at SIMM.



Courses Course Objectives Entry Requirements Intake 1 & Duration
Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain
Management (DLSCM)
 (1 year program)
This course aims to equip executives and junior managers at corporate level, with the knowledge and techniques of logistics and trade operations, purchasing and production planning, and warehousing for effective management of their organizations.


– Applicants should possess at least 5 GCE ‘O’ Levels or a Certificate from any recognized institution.
– Those without the pre-requisites but have substantial working experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Intake & Duration: 22 June 2020 to 26 June 2021

Closing Date: 10 May 2020

Certificate in Logistics and
Distribution Management (LDM)
(2 months program)

The course will provide participants the tools and techniques essential in the management of the logistics function. Appropriate for warehouse executives, storekeepers, production planners, freight forwarders, shipping executives, buyers, supervisory executives in warehouse and distribution functions.


– Applicants should possess 3 GCE ‘O’ levels (any subject with grade 1-8) or equivalent qualification.
– Applicants who do not meet with the entry requirements may be considered on a case by case basis.
– Mature candidates with working experience (If applicants do not meet minimum entry requirement, they can still be considered if they have at least 2 years of working experience

Intake 1 & Duration: 9 Mar 2020 to 1 June 2020

Closing Date:   10 Feb 2020.

Intake 2 & Duration: 22 June 2020 to 14 Sep 2020

Closing Date: 10 May 2020.



  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident of Indian origin
  • Existing SIMM students are not eligible to apply for this Scholarship
  • Applicant must obtain the letter of offer from SIMM before application
  • Must submit a short essay on the reason for the scholarship application
  • Total net household Per Capita Income (PCI) should not exceed $1000
  • Applicants must meet entry requirements to the selected course of study as set by SIMM
  • Selection of candidates will be based on the following criteria:
    • Academic Ability
    • Competence
    • Attitude
    • Meeting Course Requirements


  • All scholarships entail Tuition Fee only (excluding bridging module fee, non-tuition fee, supplementary exam fee, re-module fee) for the entire duration of the course.
  • Successful candidates for the Diploma course are required to pay the following fee to SIMM:
    • Balance Course Fee after SINDA Scholarship: $600
    • Course Application Fee: $180
    • Membership Entrance & Subscription: $122
    • Notes & e-Learning Resources: $215
  • Successful candidates for the Certification course are required to pay the following fee to SIMM:
    • Course Application Fee: $80
    • Membership Entrance & Subscription: $86
  • The scholarship is only tenable for a specific period of study. Should the student decide to drop out, or defer, the Scholarship will be voided and the student has to re-pay the quantum of Scholarship.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be notified of the interview date and only successful candidates will be informed of the outcome by SINDA.
  • The committee’s decision is final. SINDA does not enter into correspondence with regard to the reasons for non-selection of applicants.
  • You may only start your course, after receiving the scholarship offer and signing the SINDA student deed.
  • Candidates are required to volunteer their time with SINDA or Singapore Indian Education Trust (SIET) upon completion and/or during the course.



Processing Time

  • You are required to apply for the scholarship before the closing date.
  • Processing time takes approximately 3– 4 weeks.


 How to Apply

  1. Visit SIMM Institute, 9 Ah Hood Road, #04-06 EASB BuildingSingapore 329975 and speak with a course consultant, do mention that you will be applying for the SIMM-SINDA Scholarship.
  2. Ask the consultant if there are any bridging modules you need to take up in order to start your Diploma or Certificate course. (Please note that fees for bridging modules are not included in the Scholarship).
  3. Get a letter of offer from SIMM.
  4. Download SINDA scholarship application form and send completed form together with necessary documents to the address below.
