SINDA Bursary
We provide bursaries for needy students studying in Primary/ Secondary Schools and in Junior Colleges.
Eligibility
- Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Full-time student in a government school/educational institution or Independent school (Primary to Secondary)
- Per capita household income (net) is $600 per month or less Total net income of everyone in the household divided by the number of people in the household should be below $600 per person
- Not receiving bursary from Tamils Representative Council (TRC) or SPMF from any Family Service Centre (FSC)
- Not a recipient of HOPE (Home Ownership PLUS Education) Scheme
- Exhausted 24 months of School Pocket Money Fund (SPMF)
Quantum of Assistance
Primary
For students in special schools, the child receives primary level quantum from the year he/ she turns 7 till he/ she reaches 12 years of age
$65/ month
Secondary
For students in special schools, the child receives secondary level quantum from the year he/ she turns 13 years of age
$100/ month
Duration of Assistance
Upon approval of application, the applicant receives Bursary till December 2012 (subject to review every 3 or 6 months)
Application Procedure
Download and print the application form. Applicant must submit the application form to SINDA in person and see a caseworker for assessment.
Copies of Supporting Documents:
- Birth Certificates/ NRICs of applicant and all household members
- Applicant’s bankbook with the name and account number
- Year 2011 Mid-Year and Final-Year Exam day school academic results
- Latest pay slips and 6 months CPF Contribution History for all working adults in the household
- Latest 6 months CPF contribution history of all non-working adults in the household
- Documentary evidence of parent’s divorce or separation certificate (if applicable)
- Certificate of death of parent (if applicable)
- Other supporting documents that may justiy the child’s need for financial assistance from the Bursary
- Any 2 Household bills – Power Supply, HDB, Town Council, Telephone or other relevant documents to support your application
Applicant must submit the application form together with the supporting documents in person to SINDA HQ, No 1 Beatty Road and to see a caseworker for assessment.
