Executive – Research

[Contract Position]

This is a contract position that can be converted to a permanent role, subject to performance and divisional requirements.

 

Job Description:

The incumbent will assist in undertaking research studies, data collection, analysis, presentations and support of research programmes that contribute to strategic planning and evaluation.

 

Responsibilities:

Literature review

  • Conduct comprehensive literature reviews to support ongoing research projects and to inform programme development and outreach efforts.

 

Data Collection and Analysis

  • Conduct primary and secondary data collection, including surveys, interviews and focus groups, to support research projects. Data analysis, including identifying trends and insights for management reporting.

 

Research Reports and Presentation

  • Prepare research reports, presentations, and papers, providing actionable recommendations for internal and external stakeholders. Assist in communicating such research findings and trends to Management and other stakeholders.

 

Landscape Scan

  • Conduct environmental scanning and prepare updates on the organisation’s key strategic thrusts.

 

Impact Assessment and Programme Evaluations

  • Assist in reviewing and implementing suitable impact evaluation frameworks and program evaluation processes.

 

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with team members to design research methodologies, develop research instruments, and ensure that all research activities adhere to ethical standards.
  • Maintain and organise research databases, ensuring data accuracy, security, and accessibility for ongoing and future research projects.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders involved in research projects, including scheduling interviews, meetings, and focus groups.
  • Provide administrative support for the research team, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and managing project timelines.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences (Social Work, Psychology, Behavioural Sciences / Statistics/ Sociology).
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience in Research, Design Thinking and Impact Evaluation or the social service sector is preferred.
  • Knowledge of mixed method research and analysis (both qualitative and quantitative)
  • Data literacy, a strong grasp of descriptive and inferential data concepts, familiarity with at least one statistical software program, such as SPSS or Tableau, and data manipulation in spreadsheet software, such as Excel or Power BI.
  • Knowledge of Python / R will be an added advantage.
  • Strong interest in community issues and a good knowledge of trends in the social service sector and issues affecting the community
  • Have strong communication and analytical skills, with the ability to write in a clear and engaging manner.
  • Excellent organisation and problem-solving skills with the ability to respond effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Meticulous, detail-oriented, responsible and able to work independently and with teams and is enthusiastic about continuous learning and personal development.
  • Good written and oral communication skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Able to participate in SINDA-wide events, as required.
