Launched in 2016 by then Senior Minister of State and President, SINDA, Ms Indranee Rajah, the Door Knocking Exercise engages Indian residents at their doorsteps to understand their needs and connect them with appropriate SINDA support. This initiative is a collaborative effort, carried out in partnership with grassroots organisations and SINDA’s community partners.
Monthly Door-Knocking activities take place on Sunday afternoons.
During the Door-Knocking exercise, volunteers will be finding out the various issues that low-income Indian families are facing in their day-to-day lives. This information will then be used by SINDA to provide and/or connect these families to the necessary support, according to their needs.
Volunteers will undergo a training session to be equipped with the necessary skill sets as a befriender.
