SINDA Book Wizards is a community-based reading programme driven by volunteers. The programme focuses on the Department for Early Childhood Development’s (DECD) Nurturing Early Learners (NEL) framework, engaging children with books, learning journeys, literacy toolkits, and hands-on activities.
It aims to provide an equal opportunity for children from low-income families to experience the joy of books coming alive through interactive learning at various attractions across Singapore while equipping them with essential phonic and literacy skills.
Duration: 14 Weeks

Pre-requisites
- 14-weeks commitment
- Desktop, laptop or tablet (1 student:1 device) with a stable Wi-Fi connection for the Online session
Volunteers will read and conduct learning activities through a virtual and physical reading session. The reading sessions will be held once a week, for 1 hour, following a structured curriculum for 16 weeks.
Volunteers will undergo a training session to be equipped with the necessary skill sets as readers.
- Singaporean
- Above 16 years of age
- Have a good command of the English language
- Working knowledge of virtual platforms such as Zoom or Google Meet
